Our educational vision
Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Center for Aging Studies Application and Research (MAKÜ YASAM), which set out with the motto “From universal knowledge to societal contribution,” is a center established with the vision of possessing knowledge and skills at world standards, prioritizing reason and science, supporting by also considering social and spiritual needs, within the framework of national and international ethical regulations, principles, and rules, being aware of the benefits of teamwork, working harmoniously and efficiently, conducting scientific research that will contribute to the development in the fields of geriatric and gerontological sciences, and ensuring communication and information sharing with other stakeholders working on these issues. Within this vision, it is aimed to ensure the development and updating of professional training programs and in-service training programs for professionals providing services to the elderly, and to carry out public education activities on all necessary topics related to aging.
Our research vision
MAKÜ YASAM plans to be a pioneering institution in determining local and national data related to aging, the aging process, healthy and active aging, and elderly issues, identifying positive and negative aspects by comparing these data with data from other countries, and sharing these data with relevant institutions. It also aims to develop international projects and advance its existing relationships to further levels.
